Popular television producer Mfundi Mvundla, noted for his SABC1 soap opera Generations, was reportedly hospitalized in 2022 for cancer treatment.
The founder of Morula Pictures, Mfundi Vundla, who has created shows including Generations, Backstage, and Generations: The Legacy, was allegedly astonished when Zimoja called him about his cancer scare.

A source close to the family told the publication, “He is doing well and is taking it easy after returning to work.”
“God is incredible, and we are grateful for his recovery!” disclosed a second insider.
According to the magazine, Vundla visited the doctor after complaining of pain and discomfort.
“The pain was not even that excruciating, but he was immediately treated for cancer after positive test results,” the insider said.
May 2022, Generations (now renamed Generations: The legacy) spokesman and publicist Nandipha Pantsi stated to City Press that producer Mfundi Vundla had spent time in a Parktown hospital due to a persistent sickness.
Yes, he was in the hospital, but he is currently at home and doing well, according to Pantsi.
It is thought that his poor condition was concealed from cast members and the general public.
A senior cast member of Generations informed the publication:
“I have no information that he is not okay. I had not seen him at the office in a while, but I did not inquire about his whereabouts because he is my employer and his personal life is irrelevant to me. I was completely unaware that he was hospitalized. I hope he gets better soon.”
Although City Press did not identify his sickness, the publication disclosed that the 75-year-old executive producer and director was in a fragile state when he battled the chronic condition.
