Prince Harry says he wasn’t William’s best man at 2011 wedding

Prince Harry has made a stunning claim that he was obliged to accept his brother’s ‘blatant falsehood’ that he was the best man at his 2011 wedding.

The Duke disclosed in his explosive memoirs, Spare, that his break with his older sibling prevented him from giving a best man’s speech: “Willy didn’t want me to give a best man’s speech.”

Harry alleges that he was forced to play the position of best man in order to save the feelings of two of Prince William’s closest pals.

The Duke was the official best man at his brother’s wedding, and he rode in a Bentley with his father and the future King to Westminster Abbey that day.

However, in the latest of a series of ‘truth bombs’ launched at the Royal Family, Prince Harry reveals that the best man stunt was all for show and that his brother’s pals, James Meade and Thomas Van Straubenzee, performed the traditional speech at the reception.

On their wedding day, April 29, 2011, Prince William and his bride Kate were joined by Prince Harry and Kate’s Maid of Honor and sister, Pippa Middleton.

Harry alleges that he was forced to play the role of best man at his brother’s 2011 wedding in order to spare the feelings of Prince William’s two closest pals.

Harry’s accusations are the most recent salvo in his very personal war of words with William, whom he has previously accused of shoving him over onto a dog bowl during a fiery argument at Nottingham Cottage in 2019.

Prince William met people who had gathered on the Mall near Buckingham Palace while inebriated the night before his wedding to Kate, according to other allegations.

Harry reportedly told him, “You smell of alcohol,” and then offered him mints as he dropped the car’s windows, describing his brother’s breath as smelling like “the aftermath of last night’s rum.”

Harry’s charges are the most recent destructive salvo against his older brother, William being the primary focus of the Duke’s ire in Spare’s 557 pages.

Harry has also claimed that he and the Prince of Wales fought after Charles labeled Meghan Markle “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive.”

His explosive book alleges that the stand-up argument in Nottingham Cottage, his Kensington Palace apartment, resulted in William seizing him by the collar and tossing him to the ground, smashing a dog dish. He reported that his back was scraped and bruised.

Harry has freely expressed his desire for reconciliation with his father and sibling, despite his astounding allegations having plunged the Royal Family into its biggest crisis since his mother’s death in 1997.

MailOnline has reached out to representatives for Princes Harry and William.

In a newly leaked tape from ITV’s planned interview with Harry, the duke stated that his brother was so enraged during the 2019 ‘Nott Cott’ incident that he saw’red mist in him.’

He added of his brother, “He wanted me to hit him back, but I chose not to.” In the early morning film published today, Harry says to his buddy Mr. Bradby, ‘What was unusual here was the amount of frustration, and I mention the red mist that I had for so many years, and I saw this red mist in him.’

Sunday’s broadcast of a short clip from an ITV interview included Harry discussing the drug use mentioned in Spare.Harry has also alleged that there was a fight between him and the Prince of Wales after he called Meghan Markle 'difficult', 'rude' and 'abrasive'. Mr. Bradby told the duke, “The book contains a considerable amount of drugs.” Marijuana, magic mushrooms, cocaine. I mean, that will certainly startle people.’

The duke appeared to concur, stating that it was “important to recognize.”

The prince also claimed that he desires reconciliation with his family, which he feels cannot occur without “some accountability.”

He states, “I want reconciliation, but first there must be accountability.” The duke further stated, ‘Supposedly, there is only one side of the tale at the present, correct? There are, however, two sides to every story.

Additional rows have appeared in Harry’s book. William is reported to have lashed out at Meghan after she insulted his wife at a meeting supposed to “lighten the mood” between the couples.

The Prince and Princess of Wales invited Harry and Meghan to their Kensington Palace apartment following a series of arguments, including reports that Kate was driven to tears at Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress fitting.

According to Harry’s new explosive memoirs, the conversation over tea and cookies in June 2018 – weeks after the Sussexes’ Windsor wedding – deteriorated into another disagreement when the Duchess of Sussex told Kate that she must have ‘baby brain’ due to her hormones.

William then called Meghan ‘rude’ in front of her, ‘pointed a finger at her,’ and stated, ‘These things are not tolerated here.’

In a passage that exposes the gulf between the Sussexes and the Wales, Meghan urged William, “If you don’t mind, please keep your finger out of my face.”

In his new book, Harry defends his wife by stating, “Meg stated that she had never intentionally offended Kate, and if she had, she begged her to let her know so she could avoid a recurrence.”

Harry described the June 2018 meeting with William and Kate, which was an attempt to heal the increasing divide between the Sussexes and the Waleses, in amazing detail.

However, both couples would wind up exchanging more complaints rather than mending their differences.

Harry says that William stated Meghan was impolite during a heated argument (Pictured: Harry and William arrive to hold a vigil in honour of the Queen last year)

The kitchen of Nottingham Cottage, where Harry claims his brother grabbed him by the collar, tossed him to the ground, and broke a dog dish.

He described Meghan’s reaction upon entering their Kensington Palace apartment, stating that her mouth was wide in awe of the décor, valuable art on the walls, books, and furnishings, and that she constantly exclaimed “wow.”

Harry stated that they had been contemplating the fact that their neighbor’s apartment had Ikea lamps and furniture that they had lately purchased on sofa.com using Meg’s credit card.

They then sat down for a cup of tea and biscuits, during which they inquired about the Wales’ children and were asked about their honeymoon.

Meghan then opted to bring up their relationship and problems dating back to when she began dating Harry, saying that there had been crossed wires when Kate believed Meghan wanted to leverage her fashion business connections when she already had her own.

Meghan suggested that wedding preparations and talks about bridesmaid outfits had exacerbated these issues.

Then, Harry asserts that Kate became enraged and demanded an apology from Meghan for offending her by mentioning her hormones after childbirth and implying that it impaired her memory. Meghan originally stated that she could not recall, but later added, ‘I remember: you had forgotten something, and I said it didn’t matter because of your pregnancy. Because you just gave birth. As a result of the hormones’

Harry stated that Kate responded, “We are not close enough for you to discuss my hormones.”

Meghan then stated that she spoke to all of her friends in this manner, at which time Prince William pointed at the duchess and said it was impolite and she was wrong to say it. Meghan then instructed him to cease pointing in her direction.

The Duchess of Sussex reportedly stated that she had not intended to offend Kate. Harry explained that they all exchanged hugs and then left, deciding that it was preferable to return home rather than continue rowing.
