Prince Andrew was heckled as he followed the Queen’s coffin

During the Queen Elizabeth II’s burial procession, a person shouting towards Prince Andrew caused a commotion.

King Charles III, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and Prince Andrew, the Queen’s children, accompanied the procession transporting her body to St. Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland, where a Service of Thanksgiving was scheduled to be held in her memory on Monday.

The royal family was being watched by thousands of people in Edinburgh’s streets when one spectator began shouting at Andrew as the quartet passed.

In a video posted by The Telegraph, the guy can be heard screaming, “Andrew, you’re a crazy old man.”

Videos posted on social media revealed that when the guy screamed, another member of the crowd pulled him back by his hood. The guy could be heard repeating, “I’ve done nothing wrong,” as he was being escorted away from the street by police, according to The Telegraph.

“A 22-year-old male was detained in connection with a breach of the peace on the Royal Mile,” a Police Scotland spokeswoman told Insider.

When Virginia Giuffre launched a lawsuit against Prince Andrew in January, accusing him of forcing her to have sex with the Duke of York when she was 17 under the influence of Jeffrey Epstein, Queen Elizabeth stripped him of his royal patronages and military titles.

In February 2022, Andrew and Giuffre struck an out-of-court settlement for an unknown sum, and he has generally avoided the spotlight ever then.

The Duke of York has returned to the spotlight as a result of the passing of the Queen, mourning his mother. According to the BBC, he is also receiving two of her favourite corgis.

Insider’s request for response was not immediately answered by Andrew’s representatives.
