Prince Andrew is advised to contest £12m sex abuse settlement

According to a prominent US lawyer, Prince Andrew should ask Virginia Giuffre to return the estimated £12 million settlement he awarded her after she claimed he had sex with her three times while she was a minor.

The victim of Jeffrey Epstein sued Alan Dershowitz for declaring her a liar over her accusations that she had been coerced into having sex with him.

However, Mrs. Giuffre, who was molested by Epstein while using by her maiden name of Roberts, acknowledged in a statement in November that she “may have made a mistake” in accusing Mr. Dershowitz, who refuted her allegations.

Even though he has previously resolved the dispute outside of court in the US, Prince Andrew is alleged to think that this now casts considerable doubt on Mrs. Giuffre’s veracity.

The Duke of York should now strive to reverse the settlement, according to Mr. Dershowitz, who told The Daily Telegraph that doing so would have been a “mistake” on his part.

I’ve never understood why he took the settlement, the man said. He had a ton of excellent defenses at his disposal. I’ve believed from the outset that it was a mistake to complete the purchase as quickly as it was. Since this is just the top of the iceberg, he should seek all available legal remedies, and the media should go into all of the charges in great detail.

He said, “I believe that the media should do a thorough inquiry to get the full facts.

Everyone should want to know the complete truth about everything, therefore it’s crucial that the media start thoroughly investigating all of the claims and doing out their due diligence. Not just one side of the story, but that is what has to be reported.

Prince Andrew’s efforts to repair his image with a view to entering public life, according to yesterday’s statements from people close to the King, were “wishful thinking.”

The King recognizes his brother’s right to seek redemption, but any expectations that doing so would open the door to resumed official responsibilities and a front-line royal position are “far off the mark,” a reliable source told the Mail.

They said, “That is definitely not the King’s way of thinking.”

King Charles is in a difficult situation, but he is aware that he must behave as a king, not as a brother.

The insider said that the matter included “so much more” than Andrew’s long-standing, denial-only US out-of-court deal with Virginia Roberts about rape and sexual assault charges.

Some members of the Royal Household are frustrated that the troubled prince and his advisors, who recently began a PR blitz to attempt to change public perception, are unable to grasp this reality.

The insider said, “The judgments that have already been taken concerning his status within the Royal Family are also about his professional judgment and his personal relationships.”

The Prince of Wales, the King’s heir, supports him.

William is likewise certain that the late Queen was correct to deprive Andrew, who was regarded as her favorite son, of his official responsibilities and relationships.

She also denied Andrew the ability to publicly use the HRH title so he could defend himself as a “private citizen.”

Mrs. Giuffre, 39, said that she was trafficked by convicted child molester Jeffrey Epstein and forced to have sex with Andrew when she was 17 years old. Although Andrew, 62, disputed the charge, he reportedly paid £12 million in an out-of-court deal to get the woman to abandon her civil lawsuit in the US.

If she repeated the charge in a future book, according to legal sources close to the prince, he would sue her for £81 million. To urge her to recant any statements and maybe get an apology, he has retained Los Angeles attorneys Andrew Brettler and Blair Berk.

In the meanwhile, Mrs. Giuffre’s companions mocked a peculiar “stunt” that was allegedly intended to refute her tale of her contact with the Duke of York. A man and a woman were seen in a bath at the old residence of convicted child sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell while fully dressed in a picture that appeared on the front page of the Daily Telegraph on Saturday. They were wearing masks that featured the accuser and Andrew’s features.

The article was titled “The picture that clears Duke over bath sex.” According to Ian, a brother of Maxwell, the image, which was taken by two of his sister’s friends, refutes Mrs. Giuffre’s claims that she had a sexual contact with Andrew.

According to Mr. Maxwell, the image “clearly demonstrates that the bath is too tiny for any form of sex frolicking.”

In 2001, Mrs. Giuffre said that Andrew licked her toes in the bathtub before their bedroom intercourse. According to a source close to Mrs. Giuffre, “If this dishonorable act is the most Maxwell’s side can do to defend Prince Andrew, it’s comical.” It’s a repulsive effort to delegitimize a sex assault victim and would be funny if it weren’t so terrible.

Additionally, their facts are completely incorrect. Virginia never claimed that they had intercourse in the tub.

What a weird, surreal picture, said Lisa Bloom, a lawyer who represented numerous Epstein and Maxwell victims. It cannot be shown… Virginia said that Andrew and her were bathing. The image demonstrates that the bath can accommodate two average-sized people.

Lawyers for Ms. Roberts refused to comment. In other places, information has come to light that may support the veracity of the famed photograph of Andrew embracing a young Ms Roberts.

The picture was allegedly shot on March 10, 2001, the night Ms. Roberts said Andrew had sexually assaulted her for the first time.

The Mail on Sunday said it could demonstrate the photo was produced on March 13, 2001, in a lab an hour’s drive from Ms. Roberts’ previous residence in Florida and that it would have been “nearly impossible” to forge.

In a TV appearance last week from behind bars, Maxwell declared: “It is a fabrication.” I don’t for a second think it’s genuine. Andrew claimed to have “no recall” of the picture being shot in 2019.
