Millionaire, 70, who unlawfully constructed “Britain’s finest man cave” risks prison again

A billionaire who erected “Britain’s finest man cave” without permission is once again in danger of going to prison.

Without requesting permission, 70-year-old accountant Graham Wildin expanded his Cirencester, Gloucestershire, home’s back by a massive 10,000 square feet in 2014.

The entertainment center has its own bar, bowling alley, movie theater, and even a gambling section.

However, Mr. Wildin was imprisoned in August of last year for disobeying a court order to decommission the structure.

He had 18 weeks starting on the day he was let out of jail to “soft strip” the man cave in accordance with a prior court ruling.

At the time, Mr. Wildin said that tearing down the man cave would cost him his life and destroy him.

Since the deadline was on Friday, January 27, it is still unknown whether the extension is still in effect.

Even though a few moving vehicles were seen outside his home earlier this month, Mr. Wildin risks serving a second jail sentence if the house has not been completely dismantled.

However, authorities could put off making a choice until March 1, when Mr. Wildin will appeal the jail sentence at the Court of Appeal.

Earlier last month, I spoke. He has a few white vans there, and we believe he has been loading things into them, a neighbor who wishes to remain nameless said.

We believe that as soon as the council arrives to see whether the interiors of the building have been stripped, he will put everything back in again. He packs some stuff into them, but they haven’t moved at all in that long.

He thinks he’s being smart, but he’s not really that intelligent, they continued. Everything he does is visible to us.

He has workers there, so I believe they are cleaning everything out so he can get into the vehicles.

There have been a lot of events there this week, but since he has 18 weeks to complete the task, I assume something has been accomplished.

“I don’t anticipate the council to show up today.” They often leave it for a few days, but I anticipate that sometime next week they will, and he will just replace everything.

Online comments regarding his unwillingness to tear it down received harsh criticism.

How much is this guy costing the tax payer, one person asked?

I darned well hope so, you conceited little twerp, another person said.

“Tick tock…knock, knock…it down,” a third person remarked.

However, some did come to his defense, with one pleading with neighbors to “leave him alone.”

The Forest of Dean District Council will continue to pursue this case in court, according to a spokeswoman for the council.

An inquiry has been sent to Wildin for a response.
