Prevent leaflet supports Princess Diana conspiracy ideas

Prevent, the government’s anti-extremism initiative, presents school governors with information that suggests theories surrounding Princess Diana’s murder highlight important issues.

According to how plausible or harmful a conspiracy is, it is categorised on a graph called The Conspiracy Chart.

Diana’s death in a car accident, JFK’s murder, the passing of Marilyn Monroe, and the claim that “[Jeffrey] Epstein didn’t kill himself” were all included under the heading “We Have Questions.”

With the following section categorised as “Unambiguously untrue but generally harmless,” the graphic showed there were reasonable concerns to be made regarding these fatalities.

In this group, there were claims like “Elvis alive,” “Prince Charles is a vampire,” and “Greta Thunberg is a time traveller.”

The next category, “Dangerous to yourself and others,” had the statements “Finland doesn’t exist,” “anti-vaxxers,” and “anti-maskers.”

QAnon, the “deep state,” Holocaust denial, and the notion that Bill Gates is trying to microchip mankind were among the most perilous conspiracy theories.

Abbie Richards, a misinformation researcher, created the chart, which was shown during a training session to assist school governors in determining which remarks should be reported to Prevent, according to The Times.

The Home Office said that the image was used by a “freelance” trainer and was not a part of its approved training.

Nick Timothy, Theresa May’s former chief of staff, published it on Twitter and said it showed Prevent’s objectives were biassed against right-wing extremism rather than its far more dangerous Islamic counterpart.

William Shawcross, a former head of the Charity Commission, is now reviewing the programme.

According to leaked draught excerpts, it will discover that there has been a “double standard when dealing with the extreme Right-wing and Islamism.”

For the first time last year, far-Right extremism received more referrals to Prevent than Islamist radicalization.

Six of the eleven most serious recent terrorist incidents were committed by people who had completed Prevent training.

Each person of concern is categorised by their ideology by local council-appointed Prevent coordinators who receive recommendations from public employees like teachers and social workers.

The Channel phase is where more severe cases are dealt with, when a panel of local authorities, including police, will propose the next steps. Councils deal with less serious situations and may provide services like mentorship or parental help.

Ali Harbi Ali, the MP Sir David Amess’s murderer who was given a whole life order last month, was recommended to the programme in 2014, but it was determined a year later that he no longer constituted a danger.

A buddy who attended Prevent training today received this, Mr. Timothy tweeted. Where is the emphasis, ignoring the “we have questions” about Diana’s death and other strangeness?

“2/3 of terrorists who are imprisoned and 90% of those on MI5 watchlists are Muslims.” It is essential that the Shawcross review be completed.

The Prevent programme “continues to play an important role in preventing individuals from being pulled into extremist ideologies and terrorism,” according to a Home Office official. Official training materials prominently reflect the reality that Islamist and Extreme Right Wing terrorism pose the biggest danger to the UK.

“Without the entire and relevant context, we cannot comment on individual visuals used during training sessions,” the statement reads.
