Senate President Confirms Backing for Tinubu’s Agenda
During a delegation visit to President Bola Tinubu on the occasion of the 2023 Sallah in Lagos, Senate President Godswill Akpabio confirmed the promise of support from the leaders of the 10th National Assembly and state governors for Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ plan.
This agenda encompasses various crucial aspects of national life, including the economy, health, education, youth empowerment, and international relations.
National Assembly’s Commitment to Legislative Process and Improved Standards of Living
Akpabio assured Nigerians that the National Assembly would align its legislative processes with the expeditious measures undertaken by the president.
He emphasized that any initiatives aimed at improving the standards of living of Nigerians would receive the backing of the assembly, reflecting their commitment to the nation’s progress.
State Governments’ Pledge to Support Federal Government’s Nation-Building Tasks
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, expressed the commitment of state governments to align with the Federal Government’s efforts in nation-building.
He lauded Tinubu’s intention to revamp the economic, legislative, and judicial systems, urging Nigerians to trust the decisions of the new administration, especially those already impacting the economy.
Emulating People-Centered Policies at the State Level
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, highlighted the intention of state governments to mirror the Federal Government’s people-centered policies.
He cited Tinubu’s successful track record as the former governor of Lagos State, which served as a model for other states.
Sanwo-Olu emphasized that Lagos would continue to leverage the commendable programs and policies of the Federal Government to achieve the desired societal transformation.
