Police were called to the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Yesler Way at 3:20 p.m. due to reports of a man being shot.
After discovering a guy with a gunshot wound, the arriving cops started first aid.
The victim, who was 27 years old, was taken in serious condition to Harborview Medical Center by Seattle Fire Department medics who had also been called.
Prior to the arrival of the police, the suspect reportedly departed the scene in a car, according to witnesses.
Detectives who specialize in homicide have responded and will head the continuing inquiry.
