Chevening 2022/2023 cohort’s pre-departure event in Windhoek

BHC Windhoek organized a pre-departure ceremony for eleven Namibian scholars who were traveling to the United Kingdom on Chevening scholarships.

The British High Commissioner to Namibia, His Excellency Charles Moore, is shown with ten of the eleven Namibian recipients of the coveted Chevening Scholarship for the academic year 2022/2023.

The British High Commission in Windhoek organized a pre-departure meeting for the freshly announced Namibian recipients of Chevening scholarships. The event was an informative session designed to provide scholars with a forum for exchanging useful and pertinent information regarding living and studying in the United Kingdom in order to facilitate their transition. In addition, the event gave the new scholars an excellent opportunity to network with one another and meet alumni from prior Chevening Cohorts.

Charles Moore, British High Commissioner to the Republic of Namibia, gave a celebratory reception for the newly selected applicants at his residence in Windhoek after attending the pre-departure briefing. Chevening Scholarships are granted to individuals from all backgrounds who can demonstrate the passion and skills necessary to generate positive change, as well as how a master’s degree from the United Kingdom can assist them in doing so.

The fellowship provides scholars with complete financial support to pursue any suitable master’s degree at any university in the United Kingdom, as well as special academic, professional, and cultural opportunities.

The eleven Namibian recipients of fully funded Chevening scholarships for the 2022/2023 academic year are as follows:

Chevening has given approximately 50,000 professionals the opportunity to develop in the United Kingdom since its inception in 1983.
