Police find Asian relatives of dead New Zealand children

Police have located the family of children whose bodies were recovered in two different pieces of luggage purchased at a storage sale in Asia.

A family from Auckland made the shocking discovery of human remains when they brought their locker home, prompting the New Zealand police to broaden their homicide investigation. On August 11, they purchased the unit’s contents, which reportedly included “strollers, toys, and a walker.”

Detective Inspector Tofilau Faamanuia Vaaelua stated on Thursday that the youngsters, who are between five and 10 years old and are unknown gender, also have unidentified relatives in New Zealand.

He continued, “The investigating team is working diligently to identify the individual or individuals guilty for the killing of these youngsters.”

Mr. Vaaelua further stated that the youngsters may have spent between three and four years inside the luggage. Both luggage were of comparable dimensions. According to sources, the family of the two young children is located in Asia.

The newspaper also revealed local cops’ collaboration with Interpol on Friday. We have initiated inquiries with international agencies. I cannot elaborate beyond that,’ Vaaelua added.

Given the amount of time the bodies were stored, Inspector Vaaelua stated on Thursday that CCTV footage would be analyzed, but conceded that police would face a problem.

He continued, “The nature of this discovery complicates the inquiry, particularly given the time that has passed between the time of death and the time of discovery.”

“Many of us (in the police) are parents, we have a job to do, and we’re doing our absolute best to identify the victims.”

“I can state that we are making excellent progress with DNA investigations.”

‘This is not a simple inquiry, and no matter how long or how many years you serve and probe such heinous crimes, it is never a simple assignment. I am a parent of small children, but we have work to do.’

Detective inspector Tofilau Faamanuia Vaaelua said a post mortem report revealed the corpses belonged to two primary-school aged childrenA family from Manurewa, in south Auckland bid in an auction on August 11 and won the unit's contents before making the shocking discovery human remains were insideThe family of two primary school aged children whose remains were found inside suitcases bought at an online auction are reportedly living in Asia

Mr. Vaaelua stated that he understood the incident update to be “very distressing” to the community.

The suitcases were among the items purchased by a NZ family during an online auction of a storage unit at Safe Store Papatoetoe (stock image)

He told reporters on Thursday afternoon, “We are still on a fact-finding trip, and we have many unresolved questions.”

There are family members out there who are unaware that their loved ones are deceased, including two young children, and my heart goes out to them.

Given the young age of the victims, the investigation was difficult, according to Insp. Vaaelua. Additionally, household and personal goods were discovered in the baggage.

Mr. Burdett, a retired officer, expressed his condolences to the family following the horrible finding.

He was cited as saying, “When presented with conditions such as this, you can never forget it; you can never unsee it.”

The Manurewa family who purchased the stuff from the storage unit is in no way implicated. It is believed that they have fled Auckland in order to dodge the media maelstrom.

They had placed an online bid for the storage locker’s contents at Safe Store Papatoetoe.

Buyers are prohibited from examining the unit’s contents in depth prior to the auction and must bid blindly on the unit.

It is mainly storage sheds with unpaid rent, and it has been transformed into a popular reality television show in the United States called Storage Wars.

When they win the auction, they are then permitted to examine the unit thoroughly.

Unidentified director of the storage company Safe Store Ltd stated that the company was assisting the authorities with their investigation.

The director stated, “We will not comment because it is under police investigation and we are cooperating with them.”

In the case of the New Zealand family, the terrible discovery was revealed after they took the suitcases inside.

A trailer carrying the suitcases reportedly had “prams, toys, and a walker,” according to a Clendon Park neighbor who spoke to the New Zealand Herald.

Shelton Honana, a neighbor, told Newshub, “I feel sad for the family since they have nothing to do with it.” It is horrible and f***ing terrifying.

Witnesses claimed seeing three separate hearses parked outside the home on Thursday night, after the frightened buyers phoned the police.

Investigators also removed from the residence the huge rental trailer used to transport the cargo.

The manager of Titan Containers, Hannah Grant, stated that storage businesses may auction off units if the original owners fell behind on payments.

She stated that some auctions are conducted in person, but prospective bidders are unable to examine the unit prior to placing a bid.

She stated, “We are not aiming to profit off people’s belongings.” We want the goods gone so we can rent out additional space.
