PM Boris Johnson speaks to Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis ahead of the NATO Summit

Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis today.

The Prime Minister met with Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Greek Prime Minister, today ahead of the NATO Summit next week, which they agreed will be a critical occasion for NATO to unite in support of Ukrainian sovereignty.

The Prime Minister stated that the international community must change its approach to Ukraine in order to alleviate the pain of the Ukrainian people as well as the catastrophic impact of Putin’s brutality on global food and energy prices. He emphasized that silence on the part of the West will simply give Putin carte blanche to continue striking.

Prime Minister Mitsotakis gave the Prime Minister an update on Ukraine’s efforts to gain EU membership. These efforts, according to the Prime Minister, demonstrate the international community’s support for the Ukrainian people and their choices.

The leaders expressed their delight at the prospect of future UK-Greek cooperation in a variety of fields, including defense. They were looking forward to seeing each other in Madrid the following week.
