Perth man found in pool of blood at a Bali cafe after a drunken argument

Troy Scott Johnston, a 40-year-old Perth father, was fatally assaulted in Bali following a drunken altercation with the owner of a local café.

According to reports, Johnston was struck on the head with a chair, which resulted in him being found by his wife in a pool of blood at the Uncle Benz Cafe in South Kuta, Indonesia, early on Thursday morning.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival. The café owner, Gede Wijaya, who was charged with murder by the Indonesian police, claimed that Johnston was inebriated and out of control, and that he had no intention of killing him.

However, the police have alleged that Wijaya was also drinking before the fight broke out. Johnston was on vacation with his wife and young son, and his wife had become concerned when he didn’t return home by 3:45 a.m.

She went out to search for him with her brother, and they discovered him lying in a pool of blood at the café. Wijaya faces a 15-year prison sentence in Indonesia if he is convicted of murder.
