PDP slams the APC-led government after the state was rated 36th in the current WAEC ranking

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has criticised the administration headed by the All Progressives Congress after the state was ranked 36th on the most recent West African Examination Council (WAEC) performance index.

Osun is placed 36th out of 36 states and the FCT in the WAEC rankings.

Dr. Adekunle Akindele, chairman of the PDP Caretaker Committee, demanded that Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s administration apologise to the people of Osun State for the allegedly destructive handling of the education system that resulted in the very embarrassing placement on Wednesday, in response to the most recent state-by-state performance record in the Senior School Certificate Examination for the 2022 calendar year.

The PDP denounced the distasteful results as a consequence of the APC-led administration’s laissez-faire approach toward education in the state, which has left the crucial sector in the hands of do-nothing propagandists and obscured the future of the state’s future leaders.

“For a long time, the state government had refused all wise counsels to hire qualified specialists to replace existing gaps in critical subjects in practically all of the state’s Public Secondary Schools, in an effort to avert the current calamity.”

“What’s more, Oyetola is content with squandering monies intended for the state’s ailing education sector on illegitimate local government elections that will undoubtedly fail.” “These are streams of mistaken priorities that are causing innocent youngsters to experience heartbreak and poor futures through improper education,” it stated.

The PDP pledged an improved education system under Governor-elect Senator Ademola Adeleke, promising “parents whose wards have been subjected to psychological pain due to bad performance in WAEC and other basic examinations of better days ahead.”

“As pledged during the campaign, Senator Ademola Adeleke’s administration will prioritise education by restoring sanity to the sector and moving away from personal personal aggrandizement.”
