Oti Mabuse, a judge on Dancing On Ice, has revealed that she and her husband Marius Iepure are expecting their first child. The 33-year-old professional dancer shared her excitement about the news, mentioning that she finally felt prepared to make the announcement. Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Mabuse posted a series of photos featuring herself and her husband, with Mabuse gently cradling her baby bump.

In her Instagram post, Mabuse wrote about how their already wonderful year is becoming even better, as their family of two is expanding. She expressed that this new journey is more daunting than experiences like swimming with sharks, leaping off cliffs, or even swinging from bridges, but it’s also the most incredible news they could have received. The couple already feels a deep affection for their impending arrival and eagerly anticipates what their future as a family of three, plus their pet Leo, will hold.

While Mabuse didn’t specify the due date, she hinted that the holiday season is about to become even more joyous. The South African dancer gained fame as a Strictly Come Dancing professional, triumphing in the celebrity dance competition in 2019 and 2020 alongside actor Kelvin Fletcher and comedian Bill Bailey, respectively.

Mabuse’s sister Motsi, aged 42, was previously a judge on the German version of Strictly, “Let’s Dance,” before joining the BBC’s Strictly as a judge in 2019, taking over from Dame Darcey Bussell.

In 2021, Mabuse was announced as John Barrowman’s successor as a judge on Dancing On Ice. The show features celebrities and their professional dance partners performing live ice-skating routines on television.

Mabuse’s journey with her husband Iepure began when they partnered as dancers. After leaving Pretoria, South Africa, in 2012, they moved to Nuremberg, Germany, and competed as a duo representing Germany in showdance Latin performances.
