Abiodun congratulates Oyebamji, the newly elected governor of Ekiti.
Dapo Abiodun, the governor of Ogun State, has congratulated Biodun Abayomi Oyenbamji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the winner of the recently conducted 2022 governorship election in Ekiti State.
The results of the election were announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday morning in all 16 local government areas of the state, with the APC candidate winning in 15 of them.
Governor Abiodun praised the people of Ekiti State for voting the ruling party to continue to provide good administration in the state, according to a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, on Sunday.
He stated that the governor-elect’s victory in the election plainly demonstrated that the departing governor, Kayode Fayemi, had performed admirably in office.
While stating that the people have spoken through the ballot box, Abiodun praised the INEC for conducting a free and fair governorship election.
Despite the pre-election concern of chaos, the governor praised the security authorities for securing a peaceful election.
He urged the governor-elect, on the other hand, to be gracious in triumph and rally support from his opponents.
Governor Fayemi was also praised by Abiodun for promoting people-oriented policies and programs, which he claimed endeared the APC to the people of Ekiti.
