North Carolina attorney shot dead in murder-suicide by client: police

Tuesday, authorities announced that a famous North Carolina law firm attorney was shot and killed by a client in an apparent murder-suicide.

According to the Goldsboro Police Department, Patrick White, an attorney with the firm Riddle and Brantley, was murdered by a client after a verbal disagreement erupted between them on Monday. The client then used the gun to shoot himself.

WRAL said that at 4:15 p.m., police were called to the law offices located at 601 North Spence Avenue in Goldsboro, where they discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds.

The shooter has not yet been identified, and there was no immediate information regarding a probable motive.

The Post was informed by a representative of Riddle and Brantley that she was unable to comment on the incident.

Riddle and Brantley is a personal injury legal company in eastern North Carolina with ten locations.

White, according to his personal page on Riddle and Brantley’s website, graduated from West Virginia University in 2005 and has been practicing law since then.

Throughout the years, he handled cases including motor vehicle accidents, dog attacks, slip-and-falls, as well as insurance disputes and construction claims, among other sorts of personal injury legislation.

White was cited as saying, “I enjoy seeing my clients and assisting them through what may be one of the most frightening and perplexing moments of their lives.” It is an honor and a privilege to assist them in obtaining justice and compensation.

Raleigh native White is survived by his wife, Molly, and their two children. According to his biography, the attorney enjoyed spending time with his family, taking photographs, and birding in his spare time.
