Nomcebo Zikode is excited and looking forward to being recognized on the international stage at the upcoming 65th annual Grammy Awards event.
On Sunday, Nomcebo has a chance to earn her most significant accomplishment to far, a Grammy Award.
The platinum-selling South African musician is nominated for Best Global Music Performance for her monumental duet with Wouter Kellerman and Zakes Bantwini entitled Bayethe.
Zikode stated that she was pleased to get the nomination notification. She afterwards called Zakes and Wouter.
“I was astounded since I did not anticipate that this would occur so quickly. Zikode stated, “Being nominated for a Grammy seems like a win in and of itself, because the Grammys are so prestigious.
The mere recognition from the Grammys means a great deal to me, and I will never forget how this moment made me feel.
She explained that Wouter was attempting to contact “the Jerusalema singer” when he composed the song.
People had attempted to pair him with other individuals, but he insisted that we work together. Fortunately, he met Zakes Bantwini at the Samas [South African Music Awards] and they communicated their desire for the three of us to work on a song.
The song was nominated for a Grammy only weeks after its debut. Nomcebo is ecstatic about the possibility of bringing home the medal, while she considers being nominated a victory in and of itself.
She stated that people should anticipate an album from her in the future.
“I look forward to providing them with fresh music. I’m also excited about starting my own business. I will only have one or two artists under my company’s umbrella. “Keep an eye out for that,” she advised.
