Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh recently opened up about her career choices and the influence of her upbringing on her current path.
She revealed that before venturing into the world of acting, she had contemplated becoming a pastor.
Having grown up in a church environment and even serving as a cell leader and department assistant, the values instilled in her during that time still shape her character today.
In an Instagram post, she expressed her discomfort with revealing clothing and emphasized her commitment to decency despite the demands of her profession.
Tonto Dikeh’s Political Journey
Tonto Dikeh, known for her acting prowess, has also ventured into politics.
In the recent gubernatorial election in Rivers State, she served as the running mate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate.
After the election results were announced, Tonto Dikeh reaffirmed her dedication to politics and expressed gratitude to her supporters in an Instagram post.
Media reports previously claimed that she and her principal had withdrawn from the campaign to support another candidate from the All Progressive Congress (APC).
However, Tonto Dikeh stressed that integrity mattered more to her than party affiliation and commended her colleague Funke Akindele for advocating for Lagos State.
Tonto Dikeh’s Message of Hope
Reflecting on her involvement in the 2023 General Election, Tonto Dikeh described it as an incredible journey with both triumphs and disappointments.
Despite the challenges, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to have been considered as the Deputy Governorship candidate under the ADC platform.
She acknowledged that the election had concluded with a newly elected leader and urged everyone to prioritize peace and prosperity in Rivers State, putting aside personal emotions.
Tonto Dikeh remained resolute, stating that she would not give up and expressed her hope for unity and development in Nigeria.
She concluded her message by thanking her supporters and sending blessings to all.
