Nkadimeng will evaluate Mpumalanga’s flood damage.

Thembi Nkadimeng, Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (CoGTA), will evaluate the damage caused by the rains that devastated areas of Mpumalanga this week.
Over the previous week, the province, like with other regions of the nation, saw consistent torrential rains that left a trail of devastation.
The government claimed in a statement that bad weather has devastated buildings and infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and other crossings, in a number of locations.
“The Deputy Minister will join the disaster management teams that are giving the afflicted communities the much-needed help.”
The National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) continues to work in concert with the Provincial Disaster Teams to lessen the effects of the national state of disaster.
In order to facilitate an aggressive, coordinated response to the effects of the floods that have impacted the provinces of Mpumalanga, the Eastern Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, the Northern Cape, and North West, the government has proclaimed a National State of Disaster.
The proclamation was published by CoGTA Minister Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma in accordance with the Disaster Management Act of 2002.
The Deputy Minister will evaluate the severity and scope of the losses and strengthen existing relief efforts for the impacted areas.
The department stated, “As a caring government, we continuously advocate for the escalation of the risk posed by floods. – SAnews.gov.za
