The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has expressed her concerns regarding the comments made by two anchors from Arise TV, Ayo Mairo-Ese and Ojy Okpe.

This response was prompted by Mairo-Ese’s analysis of a viral interview featuring YouTuber Emdee Tiamiyu on the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

Mairo-Ese defended Tiamiyu and accused President Muhammadu Buhari and Dabiri-Erewa herself of previously making derogatory remarks about Nigerian youths.

Criticism of Arise TV Anchors:

In response to Mairo-Ese’s comments, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, a former broadcast journalist and the NIDCOM boss, took to Twitter to express her displeasure.

She emphasized the hard work she had put in to reach her current position and warned that those who attempt to bring her down with baseless claims will face consequences.

Dabiri-Erewa called upon Nduka Obaigbena, the chairman of Arise TV, to intervene and address the behavior of these anchors who she believes are tarnishing the integrity of the broadcasting profession.

Dabiri-Erewa’s Viewing Habits:

Additionally, Dabiri-Erewa revealed through another tweet that she rarely watches The Morning Show, which is hosted by Ayo Mairo-Ese, Reuben Abati, Rufai Oseni, and Ojy Okpe.

This statement suggests that her lack of regular viewership may have influenced her response to Mairo-Ese’s analysis and the subsequent call for accountability.
