New Blade Runner Game Is Said To Be In Development And May Be Released In 2025

A credible source claims to have heard words about a new Blade Runner game, but it appears to be in the early stages of production.

Unlike other 80s sci-fi properties such as The Terminator and Aliens, Blade Runner features a small number of video games based on it. There are only two of them, to be specific.

Well, it looks like it’s going to receive another, since developer and publisher 110 Industries has recently claimed ownership of the Blade Runner license.

The company’s new studio in Switzerland is believed to have revealed a brief cinematic preview for a new Blade Runner game, with the complete game set to debut in 2025.

No other information was provided, which, combined with the project’s 2025 deadline, strongly suggests that it is still in its early stages. We have no idea what genre it will be.

Whatever it is, it is unconnected to the still-in-development improved edition of the 1997 point-and-click Blade Runner game (which is simply called Blade Runner).

Nightdive Studios is handling this one, and they’ve worked with remasters before, including last year’s Quake and 2015’s Turok: Dinosaur Hunter.

The assertion is based on a report by insider Tom Henderson for Try Hard Guides. He’s shown to be a credible source in the past, most recently sharing early information about Hideo Kojima’s next game.

According to its website, 110 Industries is currently working on at least three new projects, the first of which is the action game Wanted: Dead, which is set to release later this year.

The other two are Vengeance Is Mine, a melee mech fighting game set for release in 2023, and Red Goes Faster, a futuristic racing game set for release in 2024.

It’s also rumored that it’s working on the next Shenmue game alongside Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki, although there’s no concrete evidence other than Suzuki appearing at the company’s Tokyo Game Show presentation in 2021.
