Brenda Edwards expressed her joy at hearing Prince Charles praise her late son, SBTV founder Jamal Edwards, in a recent interview.

Before the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Rwanda this week, the Loose Women star was asked to meet the Prince of Wales at a reception at Buckingham Palace to honor the United Kingdom’s Commonwealth Diaspora.

Brenda tweeted a photo of herself shaking hands with Prince Charles, telling her followers that the prince had praised her son Jamal, who is credited with helping singers such as Ed Sheeran and Jessie J establish their careers.

‘It was an honor to be welcomed to Buckingham Palace yesterday and to meet so many beautiful individuals,’ she tweeted.

She tweeted: ‘It was an honour to be invited to Buckingham Palace yesterday and to connect with so many wonderful people.

‘Meeting HRH was surreal, I felt even more pride hearing him speak so highly and fondly of Jamal regarding everything he had achieved with his work at the Princes Trust.’

It comes after Brenda revealed that Jamal had died from a heart attack caused by recreational drugs, as she warned of the dangers.

Brenda told her followers that Jamal died in her arms at home in February at the age of 31. ‘Since I last spoke, I have sadly learned that Jamal’s devastating passing was due to cardiac arrythmia caused by having taken recreational drugs, and I wanted to address this myself to everyone who loved, admired, and respected my son,’ she said.

‘Jamal had the world at his fingers – a zest for life, and he was unintentionally snatched away far too soon,’ Brenda continued, adding that she is still processing her son’s loss.

‘Yet we have to come to terms with what happened, and Jamal is proof that this can happen to anyone.

‘These types of substances are extremely unpredictable, and we can only hope that this will encourage others to think wisely when faced with similar situations in the future. His passing has shown that any one bad decision on any one occasion can lead to devastating consequences.’
