His publicist revealed that country music artist Jake Flint passed away barely hours after marrying Brenda over the weekend. He was 37.
Clif Doyal informed The Oklahoman that the “Hard Livin’” singer died peacefully in his sleep just after he and Brenda exchanged their wedding vows. The reason of death has not been disclosed.
“Jake Flint was a prominent figure in the Oklahoma Red Dirt music movement. He was a prolific songwriter, recording artist, and in-demand Midwest and Southwestern United States live performer. As a demonstration of his compassion and kindness, he was also a relentless advocate for his fellow artists, always eager to offer a hand to anybody in need, according to Doyal’s statement.
I hope that his contagious grin and disarming sense of humor, together with his music, will serve as his lasting legacy.
Brenda acknowledged her late husband’s death in an Instagram post in which she lamented the moments they should have been sharing.
Brenda, the deceased man’s widow, commented on Facebook, “We should be browsing through wedding photographs, but instead I have to select clothing for his burial.”
She commented, “We should be browsing through wedding photographs, but instead I have to choose burial attire for my spouse.”
“Humans are not designed to feel this much suffering. My heart is broken, and I desperately need him to return. I can only take so much more. I need his presence.”
The reason of death has not been disclosed.
Brenda Cline, Jake’s former manager and close friend, also lamented the death of the singer, whom she regarded as “very much like a son.”
“With a shattered heart and tremendous sorrow, I must announce Jake Flint’s sad passing,” she said early Monday on Facebook.
“We were just about to begin a business venture together when he and Brenda were married yesterday. Yes-yesterday.”
