Wednesday in San Antonio, NBA guard Bryn Forbes, who has been in the league since 2016, was arrested for reportedly punching a woman “multiple times.”
Forbes, age 29, is accused of assaulting his girlfriend during a physical dispute between the two.
According to TMZ, when police came, the woman claimed them that Forbes caused her “injury and pain” by striking her. Forbes was arrested shortly thereafter at 5 a.m., and as of Wednesday afternoon, he remained in detention.
Forbes was transferred to the Bexar County Prison, and his bond was set at $2,500, according to 1200 WOAI-AM.
The case is still being investigated.
Forbes, a 29-year-old father of two who went undrafted in 2016, spent seven seasons in the NBA. Before entering the NBA, he played at Cleveland State and Michigan State.
Forbes signed as a free agent and played with the San Antonio Spurs for his first four seasons. He signed as a free agent with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021, but returned to the San Antonio Spurs the next season before being dealt to the Denver Nuggets in the middle of that season.
Forbes signed with Minnesota in July, but the team dismissed him last week to clear a roster spot after acquiring Mike Conley Jr. and Nickeil Alexander-Walker from the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for D’Angelo Russell.
