National Lottery to host ‘The Big Eurovision Welcome’ at St George’s Hall in Liverpool with 30,000 tickets

The National Lottery will host a live show, called “The Big Eurovision Welcome,” outside St George’s Hall in Liverpool on May 7th to kick off Eurovision celebrations.

The event is the most significant single event in the Eurovision calendar and brings together prominent performances. Up to 30,000 free tickets will be made available to the public, including up to 15,000 pairs of tickets for National Lottery players on a first-come, first-served basis.

Some of the tickets will be reserved for Ukrainian residents in the UK, including refugees supported by National Lottery-funded organisations and community groups from Liverpool.

Tickets will be released in early April, with more details to be confirmed in the coming weeks. The National Lottery’s Adam Chataway said that the event is “a giant free Eurovision party for the people of Liverpool and beyond” and a way of thanking everyone who has ever bought a National Lottery ticket.

The Mayor of Liverpool, Joanne Anderson, said the free event would be very special and no city could throw a party or offer a welcome as warm as Liverpool.

Highlights of the live show will be available on the BBC, and more information about the opening concert and ticket sales will be announced next month.
