General Bheki Cele, the Minister of Police, is leading a national team that is currently being briefed on the weekend shootings in Soweto and Katlehong.

The management of Gauteng is overseeing the briefing under the direction of Lieutenant General Mawela, the Provincial Commissioner.

Cassel Mathale, the deputy minister of police, Faith Mazibuko, the minister of state for community safety, Dr. Phalatse, the mayor of Johannesburg, and General Fannie Masemola, the national commissioner of the SAPS, are all there for the briefing.

The delegation will travel to the crime scene in Orlando East after the briefing to perform a site visit.

The Minister will inform the country on police operations in the region at 10:00 by meeting with locals and community leaders at the Nomzamo Informal Settlement.

The Minister will also inform everyone about the weekend shootings that happened in KZN.
