Mystic Meg, Britain’s most famous astrologer, has passed away at the age of 80 after losing her battle with a short illness.
Meg, whose real name was Margaret Lake, shot to fame as the astrologer for the National Lottery.
She passed away at 3.45am this morning.
Last month, Meg was admitted to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, with the flu.
Her agent of 34 years, Dave Shapland, confirmed the news of her passing and praised her as Britain’s most famous astrologer by far.
He noted that she was followed by millions in the country and around the world and that she had become part of the English language.
Shapland explained that people from all walks of life would reference Meg when they were asked a tricky question, saying, “Who do you think I am, Mystic Meg?”.
It was a testament to the impact that she made.
