Murder Investigation Launched after Woman’s Body Found in River Severn

Dyfed-Powys Police have initiated a murder investigation after the body of a woman was found in the River Severn near Llanidloes on Sunday, May 28.

A 34-year-old woman’s body was discovered at approximately 4pm, leading to the subsequent arrest of a 46-year-old man on suspicion of murder.

The man remains in police custody as the investigation progresses.

Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Authorities are urging individuals who may have witnessed or captured dashcam footage of a man and a woman in Llanidloes or on the A470 between Llanidloes and Dolwen on Saturday, May 27, or Sunday, May 28, to come forward.

Officers are particularly interested in any information that may assist in the investigation.

Descriptions of the Individuals

The woman has been described as white, approximately 5ft 4ins tall, of small build, with very long dreadlocks that extended past her waist.

She was last seen wearing a grey-colored top, dark trousers, and white trainers.

The man is described as white, around 6ft tall, with a stocky build and dreadlocks in his hair.

He was wearing a short-sleeved, high-vis-style jacket, a T-shirt, shorts, and light-colored trainers.

He was also carrying a black-style bag with a single strap and was accompanied by a small, dark-colored dog.

Additionally, police are seeking the assistance of the person who gave the man and his dog a ride from Welshpool to Shrewsbury, dropping him off near the Dinky’s Dinahs layby on Sunday.
