Murdah Bongz releases his solo debut Mörda

Murdah Bongz, popularly known as Morda, has finally released songs under his own name.

In October, the other half of the award-winning duo Black Motion hinted that he was cooking up new music, which is now available for listeners to hear.

“I cannot describe how incredible it is to finally be releasing songs under the name Morda.

In a press release, Morda said, “At first I was rather worried, not because of people’s reactions, but because of the tiny self-doubt one gets while making an unpleasant move toward growth, but as soon as I pressed that first key knowing this is all me, I felt reborn.”

His album “Asante” was recorded over the course of a month in numerous locations, and it contains Focalistic, Murumba Pitch, Brenden Praise, Mwha Keys, Oscar Mbo, Vanco, Nhlonipho, Yallunder, Lyric Shox, Azana, Trancemicsoul, and Thakzin.

This project’s lead single is a ballad for lovers titled “Summer Love” featuring Nkosana Daughter.

“When I originally recorded ‘Summer Love,’ I couldn’t help but hear Nkosozana Daughter’s voice on the track, so I reached out to her and she was eager to collaborate.

This is a song for lovers, I am at that phase of my life, and it seems fitting that it be the first single. I hope you enjoy it.

“All I want is for those who are as in love as I am to have a song to take us through the summer. The song was made extra special by Nkososana Daughter, and it’s a fantastic song for lovers,” he remarked.

Regarding the tone of the house record, Morda revealed that he experimented with a variety of sounds in order to create the final product.

“I was experimenting with sounds from different aspects in different genres, and to be honest, I was attempting to create a new genre with the sounds, but music is an emotion, so I just hope this project makes people feel like they’re experiencing something fantastic for the first time,” he explained.

Morda revealed that each song on the album, whose cover art features his daughter with the same name, holds a special place in his heart.

“I want want everyone who listens to ‘Asante’ to feel amazing. Every song on this album holds a particular place in my heart,” he stated.
