Multiple injured in a mini-bus taxi and car incident on the M4 near Durban

Netcare 911 responded to a collision on the M4 between Umhlanga and La Lucia, Durban North, at 10H40 Saturday morning.

According to reports, a fully loaded minibus taxi and a car collided, resulting in both vehicles leaving the road.

Durban Metropolitan Police Search and Rescue, Durban Metropolitan Police, Durban North SAPS, Marshall Security, ALS paramedics, Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services, and KZN EMS were among the first responders on the scene.

Medics found that twelve occupants from the taxi had sustained minor to moderate injuries.

The driver of the car, an adult female had sustained moderate injuries.

The lady was treated on scene by a Netcare 911 emergency care practitioner while the Fire and Rescue Services used hydraulic tools to free her from the vehicle.

Once stabilised, all patients were transported to hospital for further care.
