A collision between two taxis and four light-motor vehicles on the N17 at the Vlaklaagte turnoff in Trichardt, Mpumalanga, injured eight adults (fve females and three males) early this afternoon. The highway had poor visibility due to a veld fire.
At roughly 1:30PM, ER24 paramedics arrived, along with the Traffic and Fire Departments, SAPS, and another private medical service. The roadway was still blocked by two minibus taxis, two bakkies, a Fortuner, and a car. Two adult males and four adult females were found to have moderate injuries, while another adult male and another adult female were determined to have mild injuries. ER24 treated everyone and sent them to the hospital for further treatment. One of the injured persons refused to be taken to the hospital.
The South African Police Services were on the scene, as earlier mentioned, to conduct further investigations.
