Motorist forced to flee off-road in fear after driver behind approached car with a metal pole on Ringwood-Warrandyte Road

After the driver in back approached the car with a metal rod, the driver was forced to escape in terror off the road.

The terrifying incident was recorded on dashcam video and uploaded to the “Scotts Car Cameras” YouTube channel on Saturday.

On June 2, the driver was traveling down a busy Victorian route when he suddenly had to take immediate action to flee from a possibly violent act of road rage.

The frightening moment was captured on dashcam footage and was sent to the YouTube channel 'Scotts Car Cameras', before being posted on Saturday (pictured, moments before the man in the Mercedes got out to approach the vehicle in front)Just after 5 o’clock, they stopped at the lights on Falconer Road and were going to turn left into Ringwood-Warrandyte Road.

The driver behind him then saw him get out to approach the car and ran off the road to get away.

The driver of the Mercedes can be seen coming to a stop only inches from the car in front, getting out, and charging toward it while clutching what seems to be a metal rod.

The quick-thinking actions to avoid the confrontation can also be seen, which left the man standing in the middle of the road as the car sped off.

But they didn’t save any video of that specific incident.

Numerous people commented on this video.

One viewer said: ‘Why  can’t people just go to their destination without trying to have a war with others on the road….Whether something happened before this or not, why jump out of the car with a weapon?’

‘You achieve absolutely nothing other then getting yourself worked up over nothing,’ they added.

Another stated: ‘Regardless what happened beforehand, no excuse to jump out and attack another motorist.’

While a third person commented: ‘They always show the response but not what they did to get the response…They would have footage of that too but chose not to show it.’

‘Playing the victim when you were probably the instigator,’ they added.
