Mother dog and seven pups are rescued from a landslide in Turkey

After rescuing them from a landslide with his own hands, a Turkish veterinarian was able to preserve the life of a dog and almost her whole brood of puppies.

Soon after the landslide earlier this month, Soner Büyümez was working on a farm in a rural area of Turkey when he heard what seemed to be an animal whimpering for assistance.

In her haste to find the cause of the frantic noise, the veterinarian raced towards the landslide, where she soon discovered a stray dog trapped in a little hole up to her neck in dirt and unable to escape.

“I saw a dog was buried alive. The cat was in great suffering, according to Büyümez, who added that just her head was still visible above the ground.

The brave veterinarian used a tiny shovel and his bare hands to dig in the ground until he was able to bring the mother dog to safety, certainly rescuing her from a protracted and agonising death.

Despite being unharmed, the stray continued to wail after being let free, which made Büyümez and a coworker think that possibly another animal had been trapped in the unexpected earthslip.

The landslide had occurred. I saw a dog was buried alive. “Only her head was left [above the mud],” claimed Büyümez.

The veterinarian realised right away after liberating the stray dog that she wasn’t in danger on her own. He went back to the hole right away and continued searching for her babies.

After zealously searching for some minutes, the two discovered a little corpse with matted dirt on its fur.

Büyümez and his colleague dropped down on their hands and knees and began to carry dirt and pebbles out of the caved-in trench, knowing they couldn’t leave without completing their search.

After many minutes of ardent digging, the two discovered a little corpse with matted dirt on its fur.

Büyümez frantically dragged aside the last of the soil to free the dog since he thought the puppy was dead. To his surprise, the hound looked to be fully unharmed.

The two good samaritans went back for more and continued digging for more than two hours until they freed a total of eight puppies, thought to be the complete brood of the lone stray.

The mother dog was ultimately reunited with her seven healthy and robust young furballs, owing to the fast thinking and diligent effort of Büyümez and his colleague. Sadly, one of the hairy canines had passed away.

Büyümez frantically peeled aside the remaining soil to free the first dog, which to his relief looked to be mainly unharmed, since he feared the pups were dead.

A temporary home they had built for themselves had collapsed, burying the mother and her puppies.

The heroic rescue operation lasted for more than two hours, and seven out of eight puppies eventually emerged unscathed.

Following the successful rescue, Büyümez expressed his belief that the mother dog and her puppies were somehow managing to survive on their own after managing to make a little house for her family before the burrow collapsed during the landslide.

Fortunately, the dogs won’t have to fend for themselves any longer since the vet promised to adopt and nurture them as his own.

Their overall health is excellent. The mother and her pups are safe, according to Büyümez. I will treat them as though they were my own.
