This is the definition of a modern family.
Katy Perry and Miranda Kerr demonstrated that “ex-wives and new wives” can be friends by walking the red carpet at the 20th annual G’Day USA Arts Gala in Los Angeles together.
On Saturday night, the “California Girls” singer, who is engaged to the supermodel’s ex-husband, Orlando Bloom, impressed in a gold Zimmerman ensemble.
Perry wore a metallic bra and a matching skirt in the form of a ballgown. The 38-year-old singer accessorized with gold bracelets, gold drop earrings, and a gorgeous hairstyle.
Kerr, age 39, went for a strapless white party dress. The former Victoria’s Secret model accessorized with glistening silver earrings and silver shoes, and styled her dark hair in classic, bouncy curls.
Together, they walked the red carpet at the twentieth annual G’Day USA Arts Gala.
Kerr was presented with the Excellence in the Arts award by her ex-new partner’s partner, who did it in a fun manner.
“It may be unclear to some of you why I’m presenting Miranda. “This does not fit the outdated narrative of ex-wives and new wives,” Perry stated.
“And yes, it’s true that the majority of the media, including her husband Evan Spiegel, would like to see us mud wrestle, but we are here to lead by love because Miranda is love. And as many of you are aware, love may take different forms within a family.”
Perry, who shares 2-year-old daughter Daisy Dove with Bloom, 46, stated that she is “proud to be related to a woman who lives her truth with grace and beauty every day.”
She joked that Kerr, the mother of Flynn, 12, Hart, 4, and Myles, 3, is “dedicated to her three beautiful boys, her partner, and her smoking hot body.”
“I am really appreciative of our contemporary blended family. The “Firework” singer said, “It’s as if I’ve gained another sister, one with whom I frequently agree and engage in off-topic family conversations.”
Kerr and Bloom were wed between 2010 and 2013.
After their peaceful divorce, they issued a joint statement that read, in part, “Despite this being the end of [our] marriage, [we] continue to love, support, and respect each other as both parents of [our son] and as family.”
Bloom subsequently began dating Perry in 2016. After a brief separation in 2017, the couple reconciled the following year. The couple became engaged in 2019.
Kerr and her Snapchat entrepreneur spouse, 32, have been married since 2017 and have two children in addition to Flynn, whom she welcomed with Bloom.
The model has previously spoken openly about her bond with Perry, telling Luisaviaroma’s LVR magazine last year, “I adore Katy and am glad Orlando has found someone who makes him happy.”
She continued, “Now Flynn has four happy, compatible parents.”
