Millionaire restaurant owner stabbed to death by her grandson who is addicted to cannabis

The grandson of millionaire restaurateur Sue Addis, who owns the Donatello’s and Pinocchio’s restaurants in Brighton, stabbed her to death after she expressed concerns about his regular use of cannabis, according to reports from Lewes Crown Court.

The 17-year-old grandson, Pietro, allegedly stabbed his grandmother at least 17 times with two knives while she lay in the bath in her £1m home.

The court heard Pietro admitted to killing his grandmother but denies murder. The court also heard that Pietro had been diagnosed with ADHD and was prescribed medication for the condition, but he had also begun regularly smoking cannabis and taking anti-depressants, causing his behavior to deteriorate.

The trial is ongoing, and the issue at hand is whether Pietro was suffering from an abnormality of mental functioning when he killed his grandmother.
