Megha Thakur, a popular TikTok user, passed away “suddenly and unexpectedly” a few days after sharing a video of herself traveling around New York City with a mysterious remark.
The young Canadian woman’s death on November 24 in the early morning hours was verified by her parents in an Instagram post.
A video showing Thakur striding across a New York City street had been released only a few days ago, on November 18, with the caption: “YOU’RE in command of your destiny.” Observe that.
It was the influencer’s last post, and she has over a million fans on TikTok and Instagram. Her death’s cause has not been made public.
Megha Thakur, the joy of our lives and our beautiful, sweet, and caring daughter, departed away abruptly and unexpectedly on November 24, 2022, early in the morning, according to the statement.
Megha was a self-assured, independent young lady. The note continued, “She will be sorely missed.”
She was devoted to her audience and would have wanted you to be aware of her departure. We are now asking for your blessings on Megha. She will be in your prayers and in your thoughts as she continues on her path.
2019 saw the start of Thakur’s TikTok postings, with an emphasis on body positivity and self-confidence.
The Western Gazette noted that she had been a model for the CAISA fashion show, the biggest student-run charity fashion show in Canada, and that she had studied computer science there in the autumn of 2021.
Just days before her untimely death, she released her last video to TikTok, although it’s unclear when it was really recorded considering that Thakur and the other passersby seemed to be prepared for warmer weather.
As people respond in shock to her passing, her admirers, followers, and loved ones have begun leaving notes on her TikTok videos.
