The family of Smash actress Megan Hilty perished in an aircraft accident near Seattle on Sunday.
One of the 10 people killed in an aircraft disaster in Puget Sound at Mutiny Bay were Lauren Hilty, her boyfriend Ross Mickel, and their kid Remy.
According to TMZ, Lauren was allegedly expecting a baby boy who would be called Luca.
Since just one corpse has been found, it is yet unclear what caused the accident.
According to ABC News, no distress call was made, and the electronic locating transmitter was broken.
Northwest Seaplanes, the owner of the aircraft, said that it is collaborating with the FAA, NTSB, and Coast Guard to identify the reason.
After exploring 2,100 nautical miles, the US Coast Guard has suspended its hunt for the missing victims.
Civil rights activist Sandy Williams, pilot Jason Winters, Joanne Mera, Patricia Hicks, Luke Ludwig, Rebecca Ludwig, and Gabrielle Hanna were all there.
A beachgoer remembered seeing the aircraft “falling nose-first” into the sea, making a “huge splash,” and then making a “explosion sound.”
Until the US Coast Guard arrived on Sunday, locals started getting into their boats to help the wreckage, according to King 5.
A beachgoer told King 5 that “it was approximately 40 minutes before they came.” They gave us instructions on what to do while they were here. Basically, we were to hunt for survivors and gather everything we could.
Everything had already sunk by the time the anonymous beachgoers got at the site, which was roughly a mile away.
He told the outlet, “It was too late.”
Apart from a logbook, a few pairs of shoes, some floating fragments of the aircraft, and the corpse of one of the female passengers, the beachgoers helping with the debris didn’t discover anything.
The guy told King 5, “There was nothing intact.”
Ross Andrew Wineries, a company owned by Mickel that has been in business since 1999, makes wine.
‘We are terribly heartbroken and beyond distraught by the death of our beloved Ross Mickel, Lauren Hilty, Remy, and their unborn baby boy, Luca,’ his family, who spoke to King 5, said in a statement. Our sorrow as a whole is unfathomable.
“They were a brilliant and sparkling light in everyone they knew’s life. Despite the fact that their time with us was too brief, we shall continue their legacy.
In a statement, the Washington State Wine Commission expressed its sadness at the news of Ross Mickel and his family. Ross made a significant contribution to the Washington wine industry, and he will be sorely missed. As they endure this very trying time, our thoughts are with his loved ones.
Hilty hasn’t spoken about the death of her sister in the media.
