Seven years have passed since Ed Miliband was the topic of teen social media fandom.
And it appears that Matt Hancock’s appearance on I’m a Celebrity… has made him the next improbable politician to attract the attention of the younger generation. Remove me from here!
The former health minister, who was selected to compete in six successive Bushtucker Trials on the ITV show, is experiencing his very own ‘Milifandom’ in 2015.
Mr. Hancock appears to have amassed an entirely new fan base on the social networking website TikTok, despite raising eyebrows and being grilled by his campmates when he entered the jungle last week.
In the past week, a number of accounts devoted to Mr. Hancock have been created, with the majority praising his efforts in the jungle and some even branding him a heartthrob.
While some appear to have been created cynically, others appear to be genuine expressions of admiration for the West Suffolk representative.

Several of the comments made underneath the videos describe him as “adorable” and “perfect.”
Clips of the former Tory frontrunner participating in trials and conversing with his campmates have also circulated on the app.
One guy wrote, “I love him bro, I have no idea what the problem is with him.”
Alternate reading: “I feel for Matt. In my opinion, they are all bullying him, regardless of what he did.’
Other comments left beneath the films included, “Matt is truly incredibly lovely” and “He’s actually perfect regardless of what anyone says.”
It appears, however, that not everyone is a fan of the politician. Earlier today, activists flew a plane with a message for him that read, “Covid bereaved say get out of here!” over the camp.
The 35-foot-tall banner, which was organized by the campaign group 38 Degrees in conjunction with Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice, encircled the Australian camp for two hours.

Mr. Hancock has been at the forefront of the series since he started late last week, winning the bulk of challenges and being named camp leader.
Many fans complained that “The Matt Hancock Show” had gotten tedious.
Tonight is the first episode since his arrival where he is not required to participate in a trial.
Boy George, Chris Moyles, and Babatunde Aleshe will participate in ‘Angel of Agony,’ in which they battle snakes and insects in order to detach stars from a replica of the Angel Of The North statue.
Mr. Hancock admitted this week that he was responsible for the rule-breaking incident that led to his resignation during the Covid pandemic.
He claimed to have “fallen in love” with his former assistant Gina Coladangelo, with whom he violated social distance guidelines when they were spotted kissing in his ministerial office.
He informed his other campers, “I messed up and I admitted it. It’s hardly an excuse, but I quit because I fell in love, right? Obviously, this also had a great deal of additional repercussions.
“This has been tough. Obviously, I brought this upon myself, so yes… it has been difficult.’
