Man’s body found on Coogee Beach overnight

Overnight, a body of a man was discovered on Coogee Beach. Around 6.30 pm on Wednesday 22 February 2023, officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command were summoned to the location.

Last weekend, police had requested public assistance in locating a 54-year-old man who had informed his family on Saturday (18 February 2023) that he would be swimming at Maroubra. On Sunday (19 February 2023), after he failed to return home, authorities were alerted, and a search was launched.

Although the body has not been officially identified, authorities are in contact with the man’s family.
