Manchester United want to extend Alejandro Garnacho’s contract by another five years.

The 17-year-old Argentinian is one of United’s most promising young players, having played in the FA Youth Cup final in May.

His current contract expires in 2025, although Juventus are interested in signing him, and United are eager to sign him to a new contract.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Garnacho is in talks with Manchester United, who want to finish negotiations by the end of the year because he is a “great talent.”

Garnacho, who plays like Cristiano Ronaldo, broke through last season for United’s under-18 team, scoring 14 goals in 34 appearances.

In April, he made his first-team debut as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Chelsea before scoring two goals in the FA Youth Cup final against Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, his progress earned him a call-up to the Argentine national squad for World Cup qualifiers in March.

Garnacho was reportedly coveted by Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund before joining the Red Devils from Atletico Madrid in 2020.

Ralf Rangnick, United’s former interim manager, complimented the prodigy earlier this year.

He said: ‘(Garnacho) has been training with us for the last two weeks and I know that he is one of the most promising players.

‘(He is) still only 17, but a player that hopefully if he keeps his feet on the ground. If he keeps trying to get better every day, then he will not only be sitting on the bench but there is every chance he will be playing for this club.’
