Man, mother, and kid dead after automobile hits family

A man has been detained after a supercar collided with a family of five in Ramsgate, killing two people and badly injuring a schoolgirl.

Last night, about 9.35 p.m., a black Alfa Romeo smashed into them as they stood on the side of the road outside the multi-story car park on Leopold Street.

Both a guy in his 80s and a lady in her 30s died shortly thereafter.

A little girl of elementary school age was also injured and was rushed to a London hospital for treatment.

Minor injuries were received by a guy in his forties and a youngster of basic school age.

‘Officers responded, and a 30-year-old male from Ramsgate was detained on suspicion of causing death by reckless driving and abandoning the scene of a collision,’ said a Kent Police spokesperson.

‘He is also being treated at a hospital for minor injuries.’

‘Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are conducting investigations into the collision and are eager to hear from any witnesses, nearby businesses with CCTV evidence, or vehicles with relevant dashcam video.’
