Lee Craig McConnell, a 28-year-old man from Dorset, had sex with his wife on a bollard in protest after his neighbour installed it to prevent him from parking his campervan in her space.
The woman installed a bollard and CCTV in response to McConnell repeatedly parking his vehicle and campervan in her space, which led to tension and arguments between the two.
McConnell was caught on CCTV pushing the bollard over on two occasions, even after the CCTV was moved to an external wall and warning signs were put up.
On October 26, 2022, CCTV footage captured McConnell gesturing to his wife to come over to the bollard and having intercourse with her after 11 pm.
The incident was only known to the neighbour the day after it had happened. McConnell had also been caught masturbating outside his house facing the camera before calling his wife over.
The neighbour was left disgusted and felt that the act was meant to shock and intimidate her during their ongoing parking row.
Prosecutor Richard Withey noted that McConnell’s actions were an attempt to humiliate his neighbour, and he pleaded guilty to indecent exposure at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Friday afternoon.
Simon Lacey, defending, said McConnell was embarrassed by his actions and had placed his home for sale in a bid to draw a line under the incident. McConnell expressed concern that a copy of the footage still exists and worries about what could happen to it.
The matter was adjourned for a pre-sentence report, and McConnell will appear again at the same court on April 27. He was released on bail but ordered not to contact his neighbour.
