Tall fencing was erected around the Supreme Court in D.C due to Protests

On Wednesday evening, tall fencing began to go up surrounding the Supreme Court in northeast Washington, D.C., as emotions between demonstrators grew following the release of a draft judgment signaling a likely overthrow of Roe v. Wade.

Workers began erecting enormous fencing around the exterior of the marble building just east of the United States Capitol building as Justices began postponing public appearances amid worries that protests could turn violent.

Left-wing organizations are planning to send activists and demonstrators to conservative justices’ homes.

The addresses of Justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett, and Chief Justice John Roberts have been released by the activist group ‘Ruth Sent Us,’ and a ‘walk-by’ of their houses is planned for next Wednesday, May 11.

The group’s website states, “Our 6-3 extreme Supreme Court consistently makes opinions that harm women, racial minorities, LGBTQ+, and immigration rights.” ‘We must rise up and use a variety of techniques to force responsibility.’

On Monday evening, Politico published what appeared to be a photocopy of a draft opinion from February 4 in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization – the opinion, written by conservative Justice Alito, would overturn a 50-year-old landmark abortion ruling that gave women the constitutional right to terminate their pregnancies.

As a result of the leak, Alito has canceled his appearance at the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals judicial conference, which begins on Thursday. Alito is responsible with evaluating emergency appeals from the 5th Circuit.

It’s unclear whether Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Clarence Thomas, who were scheduled to speak at a similar conference for the 11th Circuit on Thursday and Friday, will still be present.
