James Taylor of Chicago is facing a potential 21-year prison sentence for allegedly robbing a 35-year-old man at gunpoint and remaining at the crime scene to eat his victim’s fried chicken.

The incident occurred on February 11 in South Calumet, and Taylor was subsequently arrested and charged with a series of felonies, including armed robbery with a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle, and illegal possession of a debit card.

According to the prosecutor, Taylor approached the victim and asked him for a light, then robbed him at gunpoint and forced him to hand over his keys, cash, debit card, and fried chicken.

Officers arrived on the scene shortly after the victim called 911, and Taylor was discovered still eating the chicken. Taylor is being held on a $150,000 bond in Cook County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on March 9. If convicted, he faces a lengthy prison sentence unless he agrees to a plea deal.
