Man allegedly kills his lover’s ex-boyfriend in SA

A man has been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of his lover’s ex-boyfriend in Malekunutu Section in Tseseng Village, Free State. On Sunday, 5 March, the body of a man was discovered in his ex-girlfriend’s yard at around 8:50 am. The deceased had two open wounds to his head.

The victim was identified as Mxolisi Mthombeni, 50, residing at Phomolong next to the Tseseng shopping complex. The deceased was the ex-boyfriend of a woman whose son was also found in the same place, according to South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson, Warrant Officer Mmako Mophiring.

The mother and son informed the police that they had not seen the deceased for the past few months and clarified that they no longer had a relationship with him.

Three days later, on Wednesday, 8 March, the woman’s new boyfriend was arrested in connection with Mthombeni’s alleged murder. The man appeared before the Tseseng Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 9 March, charged with murder.
