Lord Chancellor reappoints 3 lay panel members for a third 9-month term


Three lay panel members of the Judicial Conduct and Investigations Office have been reappointed for a third 9-month term, according to a statement from the Lord Chancellor.

Three members of the Judicial Conduct and Investigations Office’s lay panel have been reappointed, according to the announcement made by the Lord Chancellor after consulting with the Lord Chief Justice.

Paul Curtis, Jenni-Douglas Todd, Judith Webb MBE, and others make up the group.
The term of the reappointments is from July 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023.

The Lord Chancellor and Lord Chief Justice are assisted in their review of complaints about the behaviour of judicial office holders by the Judicial Conduct and Investigations Agency, a separate office.

The Commissioner for Public Appointments oversees and controls the Lord Chancellor’s appointments and reappointments.
The Governance Code on Public Appointments has been followed in making the reappointments.

Biographies
The Medical Practitioner Tribunal Service’s Tribunal Chair is Paul Curtis. He sits on the General Optical Council’s panel as a Lay Member.

He also serves as the Lay Chair of the East Sussex County Council’s Independent Review Panel (School Exclusions) and the School Admission Appeals Panel.

Director of Equality and Inclusion for NHS England in Southampton is Jenni Douglas-Todd. She now serves as University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust’s Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director.

Jenni served as the Office of the Hampshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s and Hampshire Police Authority’s previous chief executive.

She serves as the Dorset Integrated Care System’s Independent Chairman. Jenni is a Trustee with the National Association for the Care and Resettlement of Offenders, a Non-Executive Director with Hampshire Cricket Board, and a member of the English Cricket Board’s Regulatory Committee.

The Independent Agricultural Appeals Panel and the Cairngorms National Park Authority’s board of directors both include Ms. Judith Webb MBE.

Her prior positions include Commissioner for the Forestry Commission in Wales, Deputy Chair of the Joint Nature Conservation Committee, and Chair of Defra’s Rural Development Service during its transition into Natural England.
