The Sun says that the RAF plane carrying Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, and his wife Sophie took off for Balmoral at 2:39 p.m. instead of the anticipated 1:30 p.m.

Unknown at this time is the cause of the last-minute delay at RAF Northolt in South Ruislip.

According to analysts, Prince Harry was not aboard the jet and had to make his own way to Scotland because a disaster would have triggered a constitutional crisis.

“There is a significant constitutional reason why William and Harry do not fly together, and it has to do with the line of succession,” said royal historian Brian Hoey.

‘Royal aides must examine everything, therefore it’s possible that this was a factor.

The Dassault Falcon landed at the Aberdeen airport at 15:50.

At 7:08 p.m., the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Liz Truss, declared “the passing of the second Elizabethan period” and finished her speech with “God save the King.”

She refers to Charles as King Charles III, adding, “Today the Crown passes, as it has for more than a millennium, to our new monarch, our new head of state, His Majesty King Charles III.”

Clarence House confirmed Charles’ new title as King Charles III at 7:25 p.m.

At 7:41 p.m., Kensington Palace confirmed that Kate and William will now be referred to as the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge.
