Liz Truss pushes employees to dress better as she ditches Dominic Cummings style

The newly elected prime minister, Liz Truss, has issued a warning to those who dress casually, saying they should dress up as she works to distinguish herself from her predecessor.

Ms. Truss will implement a new dress code that includes ties in an attempt to create a more professional appearance that the public won’t identify with the “partygate period.”

The Prime Minister has made it plain to staff that Boris Johnson is responsible for the relaxed dress code and mood in Downing Street.

When Mr. Johnson was at No. 10, he was often criticised for his unkempt appearance, and his contentious chief of staff, Dominic Cummings, was known for dressing shabbily.

Mr. Cummings always seemed to have “rolled off a bench,” according to a former government source who spoke to The Times.

Before being formally appointed, Ms. Truss made her plans known to the newspaper, according to one source: “This is all spawned by Liz Coming back from victory and alerting Admirality House personnel that ties were back.”

It is believed that the wiser image would aid in the public’s ability to get beyond the partygate period that hangs over the Tories when paired with the cabinet shift.

After it was discovered that MPs and personnel had had several parties within the structure during times of Covid lockdowns and limitations, No 10’s reputation was seriously damaged.

For a long time, Mr. Cummings served as Mr. Johnson’s right-hand man, but he hardly ever appeared in photos wearing a tie.

The previous Chief Adviser to the Prime Minister would dress in various loose clothing, untucked shirts, gillets, and huge woollen scarves.

He was even seen reportedly wandering the corridors of Downing Street while wearing a baseball hat and a t-shirt.
