During a segment on MSNBC, Lindy Li, Women’s Co-Chair and Mid-Atlantic Regional Chair at the Democratic National Committee, referred to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) as a “gathering of sexual predators” and labelled former President Donald Trump a “serial rapist.”
Li also criticized conservative figures, such as Nikki Haley, for what she believes is their use of “anti-woke” rhetoric as a subtle way to express racism.
Li is known for her outspokenness and has made controversial statements in the past, leading to her resignation as Treasurer for the Pennsylvania Young Democrats.
Li referenced allegations of inappropriate behaviour against Republican representatives Matt Gaetz and Jim Jordan and organizer Matt Schlapp and called out Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene as an “adulteress.”
She also criticized Representative Lauren Boebert for carrying a Glock and claimed that Boebert had prayed for President Joe Biden to die. Li made further allegations against CPAC speakers and attendees in a tweet following her appearance.
It is worth noting that no accusations against former President Trump have been proven in court.
However, at least 26 women have accused him of unwanted sexual touching. He is currently being sued for defamation by columnist E. Jean Carroll over her allegations that he raped her in the mid-1990s.
Trump has denied all accusations of sexual assault and harassment.
