7de Laan actress Linda Sokhulu will display her comedic side in the lead character of Tina Hlatshwayo on the new 1Magic drama Grown Woman.
The Grown Woman actor Linda Sokhulu just landed the lead part of Tina Hlatshwayo, a 49-year-old widow who begins to enjoy life only after meeting Rakwena Ra Kwena, played by Bohang Moeko.
“Tina is an entrepreneur and mother of two children. Sokhulu tells Sowetan that after the loss of her husband, to whom she was married for almost 25 years, she must rediscover herself and search for new meaning in her life as a widow.
“As Tina discovers who she is and what makes her happy, she meets an attractive, much younger man who helps her rediscover herself; in the process, she falls in love with someone who is the same age as his son…. It develops into something surprising and exciting for her.”
The program will also star How to Ruin Christmas actor Sandile Mahlangu, who portrays Tina’s son Sakhile, Isidingo actress Hlubi Mboya, and others.
Linda Sokhulu of Umkhokha tells Sowetan that she accepted the role of Tina in the 1Magic drama Grown Woman because it differs from her prior roles.
“I accepted this position because it differs from the others I’ve held. It will allow me to explore my spectrum and determine what unique quality I can add to a character like Tina. I hope I do the character and plot justice,” stated the actor from Durban.
“Introducing a new character to viewers can be challenging, but I hope they will connect with Tina and the journey she undertakes despite the comedy aspect.”
“Acting is the most unpredictable profession an individual can pick… Acting is such a difficult profession, and it never seems to slow down regardless of how long you’ve been doing it. Honestly, I believe it is the most intriguing aspect about it… “I am always on my toes as I anticipate what will come next,” she says.
